Where is Our Package? Japanese Postal Service

Does anybody know an alternative to Japanese Postal Service?

We sent out a package to Chicago over 1 month ago.  At the time, we were told that due to the coronavirus, the delivery would be delayed.  An expected date was not given, but one month was a very conservative estimate.  We waited, waited and waited... until we decided to make an inquiry.  Upon our inquiry on the phone, a guy at the other end told us that it might take up to 4 months,  yes 4 MONTHS!!! (we could not stop screaming!) because there is no available flight which could carry any of the postal packages!!  Yes, including ours.  He went on and on, saying that our package may be shipped to "the third country," which we cannot even comprehend at all, before reaching Chicago.  What is going on?  Is this even possible?
