You know what?  It is running short of time before The World Cosplay Summit Nagoya 2018 starts.  Nagoya is one of the sacred cities in Japan, which love Manga and Anime (English: Animation).  Not just read and watch Manga and Anime, you can actually take part in them by becoming one of the Manga/Anima heroes and heroines.
Nagoya has been hosting this annual event
World Cosply Summit since 2003.  This year, it takes place, of course in Nagoya, from
January 28th through August 5th.  The clock is ticking with only a week left before that fascinating event.
Cosplayers from 36 countries compete each other for the championship at
Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium (near Nagoya Castle) on
August 5th (Sun.).  The ticket for viewing the competition costs 2700 yen.  The ticket information is
here.  Of course, you can wear your own costume to view the competition.  Or, you can watch the championship live on
niconico live stream.
Prior to the competition on August 5th, 2 interesting cosplay parades in Nagoya are  taking place.
This parade ends at
Oasis 21, which is a very unique oval-shaped modern architecture, in Sakae (two stops from Nagoya Station by Subway).  It is called "
Space Ship floating in the water", which is a very popular spot for travelers.   After the parade, pictures are to be taken with other cosplayers at the lightened-up
Oasis 21.   You can take part in or view the procession.
This parade starts from
Osu Kannon Temple and proceeds though the shopping  arcades.  You can join the parade as well
for free of charge.  Also, this Osu Shopping Arcades have pretty popular cosplay stores.  Please check out the following three;
Finally, at Osu Shopping Arcades, you can buy souvenirs, something very Japanese, such as Kimono fabric purses/wallets, tapestry with Ukiyoe paintings, folding fans, and others.  We bet that you can enjoy "regular" shopping as well.
If you want some other information on how to get from Nagoya International Aiport to downtown Nagoya, and on short trips from Nagoya, please check out our travel blog; https://tuneinnagoyatrips.blogpost.com
Have great Cosplay Days!!
